Pollution affects the body, mind and spirit. It causes ill health to the body, mental distress, commotion and takes away peace of mind. In this article we discuss a possible solution to water pollution and its benefits.
An interesting fact….
According to vedic philosophy, the human body is made up of the same five elements that the whole universe is made of. The five elements are earth, water, air, fire and space (ether). Of these five elements fire and space are untouched and beyond impurities. They can never be tarnished. Earth, water and air on the other hand can become impure as we all can see. Pollution is a major issue and concern of today’s world.
Earth is getting affected due to the unhealthy practices of using pesticides and chemicals in agriculture and dumping non-biodegradable elements such as radio active chemicals and plastics.
Water pollution is also a major issue. We can hardly find water that is drinkable. In order to overcome the possibility of contracting infections due to contamination, we have to buy purified bottled water to drink. We use chemicals while watering our lawns to get rid of weeds, but in the process are contaminating the earth and the water supply.
Air is getting polluted by toxic emissions from manufacturing plants and automobiles. Alternative means of generating electricity are being developed by means of wind and solar panels.
So pollution is an issue that is here to contend with. While policy makers focus on environmental pollution, I think it is the responsibility of every individual to give thought to this matter in order to protect themselves.
By educating ourselves and making mindful decisions, we can improve not only our health and improve our living conditions but also lay the foundation for a better future for the generations that will follow.
Everything that we eat and drink is affected by the modern process of agriculture and food preservation. Not only that, water, the very source of life is contaminated due to the wide spread use of chemicals and pesticides. Some of the causes of pollution are
• dumping chemicals into domestic sewage;
• industrial discharges;
• seepage from waste sites;
• atmospheric fallout;
• domestic run-off;
• accidents and spills at sea;
• operational discharges from oil rigs;
• mining discharges; and
• agricultural run-off.
Did you know how water gets purified? Chlorine is added to water after it is purified to further protect us from any contaminating organisms. That makes the water acidic.
Most people drink soda instead of water with their meals. This soda is highly acidic. Imagine what it could do to your stomach lining. The pharmaceutical industry produces drugs to combat stomach ulcers. The commercials you see on television send the message that it is okay to eat what you want as long as you have the added advantage of protecting your stomach with \\\'antacids\\\'. But I think that alone is not enough. There has to be a fundamental change in our life style, in how and what we eat.
“We are what we eat” is an often quoted phrase I have heard. In Ayurveda every disease is diagnosed based on the effects of food on the body. So this implies that a fundamental change in our eating habits is necessary if we want to improve our health.
In exploring the many beneficial products available in the alternative health stores, I came across a product called oxygen berry, also known as coral calcium
Recently, I saw a video presentation online which showed the beneficial effects of coral calcium when added to water. Among the many benefits it imparts to water, it also makes it alkaline. Many health conscious people are already aware of the benefits of coral calcium. What impressed me about this video presentation is that this company is offering the product with a business opportunity with a unique compensation plan attached to it. How ingenious! We now have a product that benefits us in the long term, both physically and financially!
